Emily Garner, Executive Vice President, Historic Preservation
Emily has been with Pro Service Builders since its beginning, where she currently leads the company’s expanding historic preservation and restoration initiatives across Arkansas. With a strong academic background and decades of hands-on experience, Emily brings both technical expertise and thoughtful stewardship to historically significant projects.
Emily holds a Master of Arts in Public History from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from Harding University. She began her preservation work early, successfully placing her first nominations to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. Her professional path continued with the founding of Pro Service Builders alongside her husband, Michael. One of the company’s first major projects—the restoration of a historic church severely damaged by fire—set the tone for Emily’s work, requiring close collaboration with artisans, specialty subcontractors, and community stakeholders to rebuild the structure in a manner faithful to its history.
Since Pro Service Builders’ inception, Emily has contributed to strategic planning, team development, and historic project consulting. Today, she is more directly involved in site visits and client collaboration, helping owners and stewards determine the most appropriate preservation strategies for their buildings. Her goal is to position Pro Service Builders as Arkansas’s leading historic restoration contractor as preservation needs continue to grow statewide.
Emily’s work has been recognized with the 2025 Eagle Award from the Arkansas Association of Builders and Contractors for the restoration of First United Methodist Church in Little Rock. Outside of work, she is an award-winning costume designer with a passion for historically accurate design. She enjoys travel, and time spent with her family.
